Decentralized exchange (DEX) PancakeSwap is making a significant foray into blockchain gaming with the launch of a new platform.
The PancakeSwap Gaming Marketplace went live on Tuesday, with an initial offering of two games themed on the exchange and its unique branding. The platform aims to draw in a variety of developers to create games for its ecosystem.
The company’s announcement stated that the marketplace is designed to enable gamers, developers, and the PancakeSwap community to “play, build, and connect”. This development follows the release of PancakeSwap’s inaugural GameFi title Pancake Protectors, which was launched in May in collaboration with Mobox.
Pancake Protectors, a tower defense game offering CAKE token rewards, boasts over 25,000 daily players at peak, according to PancakeSwap. The newly launched gaming hub also features another CAKE reward-based game, Pancake Mayor, published by BinaryX.
The marketplace is set to offer game developers access to PancakeSwap’s extensive user base, with the company claiming that there are “1.5 million potential monthly players ready to embrace your creations”. The platform is designed to facilitate easy integration of CAKE and PancakeSwap’s own NFTs for monetization and earning options.
