Johnny Depp’s Legal Team to Represent Crypto Sherlock Holmes
Hold on tight, because Crypto Twitter is always up for a good old-fashioned scandal! ππ΅οΈββοΈ
The latest drama involves a crypto Sherlock Holmes named ZachXBT, who’s been busting financial scammers left and right. He’s no ordinary Joe, though β he’s like a crypto Batman π¦, and he’s been fighting the good fight for years.
Now, this is where things get spicy πΆοΈ. Last year, our hero ZachXBT accused a certain Jeffrey Huang of thievery, namely stealing 22,000 ETH β or approximately $37.8 million β from a crypto platform that he and his alter ego, Machi Big Brother, co-founded.
ZachXBT didn’t just throw around accusations like a drunk guy throwing darts at a board π― β he backed them up with on-chain data. Take that, bad guys! πͺ
But wait, there’s more.
Huang didn’t take these accusations sitting down. Nope, he hit back with a defamation lawsuit, claiming that ZachXBT had made baseless accusations.
Huang argued that the whole thing was a fabrication, and now ZachXBT is in hot water for damaging his reputation. π₯βοΈ
But the real bombshell is that they finally found out who ZachXBT is β no more mystery! Years of anonymity β poof β gone. π
So what does ZachXBT do?
Well, he did what any self-respecting crypto detective would do: he took to Twitter to voice his outrage. He accused the lawsuit of being baseless and an attempt to “chill free speech,” and we have to agree β that does sound like something a superhero would say. And the donations poured in like a rainstorm β over a cool million bucks already!
Even CZ with his famous haircut promised $50k to Zach β now that’s what I call a loyal supporter.
And who could represent our man Zach in court? None other than the legal firm that helped Johnny Depp win his defamation case against Amber Heard.
Binance Markets Limited Says Goodbye to UK
Oh Binance, when will you catch a break? π The troubled cryptocurrency exchange just can’t seem to keep regulators off its back. This time, it’s the United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) that’s giving Binance the boot β or more specifically, its United Kingdom-based subsidiary Binance Markets Limited (BML). π
According to the FCA, BML has officially canceled its registration with the authority, which means no Binance entity is authorized to provide any services in the United Kingdom. That’s what you call putting your foot down. π£
But fear not, Binance fans β the cancellation of BML’s registration doesn’t have an operational impact on Binance, as the subsidiary had never been operational in the country. Phew, crisis averted. π
One of Binance’s regional managers even said that BML had never conducted “any type of regulated business” in the UK. Apparently, the subsidiary was acquired by Binance Group back in 2020 with the intention of launching a regulated business, but that plan never came to fruition. So much for that. π€·ββοΈ
Binance’s sub-regional manager for growth in the UK and Europe took to Twitter to point out that Binance still holds five regulated entities in Europe, including France π«π·, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Sweden.
As for those regulatory retreats in Cyprus π¨πΎ, the Netherlands, and Nigeria β those are just FUD, according to the same manager.
If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Binance has had its fair share of regulatory issues lately. π€¦ββοΈ
And let’s not forget the two civil lawsuits from US regulators that Binance is facing. πΈπ¨ββοΈ

Get ready to lace up those virtual sneakers because Nike is teaming up with Fortnite once again! π€ This time they are bringing the heat with NFTs involved. Yes, you heard it right, Non-Fungible Tokens. π₯ I don’t know about you, but the only non-fungible thing I know is my roommate’s cooking skills. π€£
Nike’s official Twitter account announced the ultimate “Sneakerhunt” on Fortnite starting June 20, and this time, the shoe brand’s NFT platform.π΅οΈββοΈ
To spice things up, Nike is bringing its Air Max shoe brand to the table. π So, not only will you get to flaunt your digital apparel on Fortnite, bringing shoes to a gunfight has never been more stylish. π€
But hold up, to add to the excitement, Electronic Arts’ gaming giant, EA Sports, has also revealed a collaboration with Nike’s .Swoosh division to implement apparel and accessories NFTs in upcoming games. ππΉοΈ
One thing is for sure: Nike is changing the game, and it looks like they are catching the eye of more than just sneakerheads. π
Who knows what future collaborations await? π€ Maybe next time, they’ll team up with Candy Crush, and we’ll get to match our digital outfits to our favorite candy. A girl can only dream. ππ
Terraform Labs Founder Gets Jailed for 4 Months
In a plot twist that could have come straight out of a crime thriller, the founder of Terraform Labs, Do Kwon, has been sentenced to four months in jail by a court in Montenegro. π And what was the crime, you ask? Document forgery, my dear Watson!
The South Korean national was found guilty of possessing falsified documents, along with another Terra executive, Han Chang-Joon.
The two have remained in custody since their arrest, despite being granted bail. Maybe they should have called a lawyer instead of a terraformer? π€
But wait, there’s more!
Along with the four-month jail sentence, two Costa Rican passports, two Belgian passports, and two identity cards belonging to Kwon and Han were also confiscated. ππΌ
