Infowars host Alex Jones missed out on a jackpot of 10,000 BTC, equivalent to $344 million, in a Bitcoin quiz set by broadcaster Max Keiser.
Jones failed to answer all five questions correctly in the quiz. His inability to answer even a single question correctly underscores the general lack of Bitcoin literacy among the public.
Keiser’s disappointment was evident as Jones passed on the first question. “You’ve lost this quiz already; you can’t even get a simpler question than that,” Keiser remarked.
The questions, though basic, demanded a fundamental understanding of Bitcoin and the crypto landscape. They included topics like the total number of Bitcoins that will ever exist, the core hashing algorithm, and the frequency of new block formations.
This was not Jones’s first missed opportunity with Bitcoin. He revealed in a now-removed 2021 interview with the Flagrant YouTube channel that Keiser had gifted him 10,000 BTC in 2013, valued at $8 million at the time. Regrettably, Jones had lost the laptop containing the Bitcoin.
Jones’s repeated failure to grasp Bitcoin’s potential over a decade later suggests that mainstream adoption of the cryptocurrency still has a long way to go.
