Bitcoin (BTC) has reclaimed the $35,000 mark, while altcoins, led by Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), and Avalanche (AVAX), are witnessing a sharp price rally.
Bitcoin’s price reached a 17-year high above $35,500 on Wednesday. At press time, the cryptocurrency was trading around $35,500, marking a significant break from the $35,000 level that had capped its upward trend for the past two weeks.
Altcoins also saw substantial gains. Solana (SOL) witnessed a remarkable 16% increase over the past 24 hours, reaching a 14-month high. Other layer 1 blockchain tokens like Avalanche’s (AVAX), Polkadot’s (DOT), and Near Protocol’s (NEAR) also rose by 6% to 10%.
Decentralized finance (DeFi) tokens also experienced a boost. Uniswap (UNI) and Aave (AAVE) advanced by 15% and 10%, respectively. Ether (ETH), the second largest crypto by market cap, was up nearly 2%, slightly outperforming Bitcoin.
