Hollywood Can Train AI On Writers Content

Hollywood writers and executives have finally come to a tentative agreement that will bring our beloved late-night talk shows back to life. After a long hiatus, we can expect some much-needed laughter and entertainment to grace our screens once again.

Now, let’s talk about the deal they struck regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI). Studios will now have the ability to train AI models using the creative work of writers. However, there’s a catch: if AI plays a role in writing scripts, the studios must pay up and give credit where credit is due – to the talented writers behind the scenes.

While the specific details are still to be determined (TBD), we find this arrangement to be fair and reasonable. After all, as AI becomes more prevalent in generating creative content, it’s crucial that the original creators receive their fair share (or should we say “slice of the pumpkin pie”?).

Speaking of AI and creativity, did you know that Google and Universal Music are collaborating to help artists license their voices for AI-generated music? It’s an intriguing development, giving artists a chance to explore new avenues of expression and collaboration.

But let’s not forget the authors! The use of AI in generating written content raises some interesting questions. OpenAI, for example, faced backlash when they trained ChatGPT on a massive collection of books without obtaining permission from the authors.

This led to prominent authors like George R.R. Martin taking legal action, accusing OpenAI of “systematic theft on a massive scale.” We’re eagerly awaiting the court’s decision on this matter, and we’re equally eager for George R.R. Martin to finish the long-awaited final book in the ‘Thrones series. We’re still mourning the disappointment of Season 8 in ’19, so a satisfying conclusion to the saga would be a much-needed balm for our wounded hearts.

Jony Ive may design AI hardware that will compete with Apple

Hold on to your iPhones, because there may be an exciting collaboration on the horizon! Former Apple design guru Jony Ive and OpenAI chief Sam Altman are reportedly in talks to team up and create a new piece of hardware with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI). Now, the specifics of this project are still hazy, and there’s no guarantee that it will actually happen. But here’s the intriguing part: SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son is said to be involved as well.

If this partnership does come to fruition, we can expect some serious competition for Apple’s beloved iPhone. It’s no secret that Apple is deeply invested in integrating AI and machine learning into their devices and software. They’re not sitting on the sidelines when it comes to this technological revolution.

You may remember that Jony Ive bid farewell to Apple in 2019 to start his own design consultancy called LoveFrom. However, even as an independent entity, LoveFrom still had ties to Apple. In fact, there were reports that Ive had a hand in the redesign of the 24-inch iMac last year. It’s possible that this work was done during his transition period, while he was still connected to Apple.

But here’s the latest scoop: It seems that Ive is no longer consulting with Apple as of 2022. And now, with murmurs of a potential collaboration with OpenAI’s Altman, the tech world is abuzz with curiosity about what these two innovative minds might create.
